There are windows in every bedroom and small terraces outside of each kitchen. There are also windows at each end of every corridor. They lead to fire escapes that are on both sides of the building.

As with the Marketplace, one side (closest to Israeli territory) of the building is for use by Israelis residents only. The other side is for use by Palestinian residents only.

Chapter 3 - Building Connections

The ground floor of most buildings are connected by passageways that are about 100 feet in length. Passageways are comprised of covered walkways and/or stairs (depending on how level the terrain is).

Level passageways or "walkways" connect base buildings that are level to each other.

"Staircase" passageways connect base buildings that are not level to each other because of hilly terrain. In addition, there are special elevators with (man-
